• description: Files, rasps, and floats are simple hand tools, about as simple as you can get. Most are just bars of tool steel with teeth cut into the surface. They are designed to remove stock, allowing you to smooth, round, or shape a surface. Rasps and floats are designed to work wood, and files will work wood or metal. The major difference between these tools is their teeth. Files have rows of short teeth, spaced closed together, that stretch across the width of the bar. Rasps have “stitches,” small teeth that are no wider side-to-side than they are front-to-back. Floats have larger teeth than files or rasps. Each tooth is sharpened like chisel and is arranged to shave the wood. The background music is "Luv" by Bornull.
